2nd Annual Golf Tournament a Huge Success!



UA Club Volleyball would like to thank all of the 2009 Golf Tournament participants and sponsors for a great tournament. Without you, our season would not be possible!

VEGAS 2009 - Get Some!


The University of Arizona A Team placed first in the Vegas Open club tournament this Spring, beating two teams ranked in the top 5 nationally. The club competed against SDSU, UC Davis-B, and Oregon on Day 1 of the tournament. The second day comprised of playing Sonoma State, UC Davis-A, Baylor (ranked 4) in the semi finals, and UC Santa Barbara (ranked 2) in the finals. The team went undefeated in the tournament.

Three players were also selected to the All Tournament team. Congrats to Katy DeBruin, Desiree Long, and "Most Valuable Player" Layne Castro!

B Team updates to come...

A Team finishes 2nd in Home Tourney to DI girls

The Desert Thunder tournament was a success. The A team placed second to the "U of A Alumni" team composed of past and present U of A Division I players. The Arizona A Club team placed highest of all club teams at this tournament.

2008-2009 Season Begins!!

Incoming Freshman!! New students!! Girls who have never tried out before!! Girls who have!! Come join the UA Women's Volleyball Club for the 2008-2009 Season!!

Get on our e-mail list (for updates/reminders), meet officers, & learn about the club at:
Wildcat Night = Student Rec Center = August 25th = 6-9pm
Student Involvement Fair = UA Mall = August 28th = 10am - 1pm

Whether you can make it to the fairs or not, come to open gym to sharpen your skills, get back in shape, or just to have fun. These practices are free. Come get to know the returning girls and see if club volleyball is for you!

Tryouts start September 14th. Get the word out. Tell everyone you know that may be interested. As you may, or may not know, club volleyball is student funded, and there are A LOT of expenses throughout the season to pay for all of our coaching, tournaments, etc. That is why there is a try out fee of $20. No big deal though, you'll get a great workout and meet tons of new friends at this event!

DALLAS, TX 2008

NATIONALS!!!!!!!


A Team:
Finished 9th overall out of 48 teams in Division I.
Defensive specialist, Mikaela Knutson, had traveling problems with the airlines and missed the first day of play. Outside hitter and president of the club, Katy DeBruin still out with a broken hand. Senior middle blocker, Katie Grogan, hurt on second day with a knee injury. Diagnosis still to come.

B Team:
Finished 6th overall out of 12 teams in Division III.
Jessica Damasco had traveling problems with the airlines and missed the first day of play.

VEGAS

Vegas Tournament: March 20-23


The A team finished fifth overall. Outside hitter, Katy DeBruin out with a broken hand. Players Alex Schleck (setter) and Jessica Foley (outside hitter) made the All-Tournament Team.

The B team finished fourth in the silver bracket.
